Waterford schools encouraged to take part in competition to win free entry to Emerald Park
Primary schools throughout Waterford are being encouraged to get creative as Emerald Park launches its first-ever Primary School Tour Competition with the prize being a complimentary 2026 school tour experience.
Schools are invited to craft a fun and imaginative limerick featuring the words "Emerald Park" for the chance to secure a full day of adventure, wildlife encounters, and fun.
The winning school will enjoy a complimentary school tour to the theme park and zoo during select dates in May or June 2026.

Entries must be submitted by Friday, 27th March 2026, and only one entry per school is permitted.
This marks the very first competition of its kind from Emerald Park and presents an exciting opportunity for schools across Waterford to secure a memorable end-of-year celebration for their pupils.
From exploring the park’s fully accredited zoo home to more than 250 animals to discovering immersive habitats like Lemur Woods to majestic leopards, pupils can connect with wildlife in a hands-on, engaging way.

Budding conservationists can learn about biodiversity and animal behaviour, all outside the classroom walls.
There are over 45 rides and attractions with something for every age group, from adventures in the Junior Zone to adrenaline-fuelled thrills for older students brave enough to take them on including the Cú Chulainn Coaster, the immersive land of Tír na nÓg.
Schools across Waterford are encouraged to gather their most creative pupils and submit their entry before 27th March, 2026 for the chance to win the ultimate school tour completely free!
Emerald Park will fully open on Saturday, 21st of March.
