Temperatures to drop as low as -3 in Waterford tonight amid yellow weather warning

Temperatures in Waterford could drop as low as -3° amid a yellow cold-weather warning from Met Éireann. 

Temperatures between -1 and -3 can be expected as well as "sharp frost and icy conditions." 

Met Éireann is warning of hazardous travel conditions while walking as well as on the road.

Disruptions to travel are also likely, with delays to be expected. 

The yellow low-temperature warning comes into effect tonight at 9pm and will remain in place until 10am on Saturday. 

Waterford City and County Council posted on X to let people in Waterford know about the weather warning. 

The warning covers the entire country.

For a low temperature weather warning to be issued, temperatures must be expected to drop to below 3°.
