Drivers in Waterford have been dealing with delays quite regularly, as was recognised in the recent update on the Council's Active Travel review.

The report acknowledged that traffic at the Faronshoneen Roundabout has been causing "additional delays" following the reduction in the number of lanes leading up to it.

Waterford Councillor, Adam Wyse, has been vocal about his feelings on the roundabout.

He met with the Minister for Transport to discuss how Active Travel laws are made, and highlighted the roundabout issues during that conversation.

"A recent council report stated that delays at the Farronshoneen Roundabout increased from three minutes to between 13 and 16 minutes at peak times," Cllr Wyse stated in a video of the meeting posted online.

"That assessment was carried out between 4.30pm and 5.30pm, before many people have even left work. It does not reflect the reality of delays of over 30 minutes being experienced by commuters, and it does not align with my own experience or that of many residents," he added.
