Anthony Keyes said that cancer has left a lasting mark on his life as he has lost many he loved dearly as a result and is running seven marathons over the course of a week to raise money for Solas Cancer Support centre

A man from Waterford has taken on a huge challenge of seven marathons in seven days to raise money for Waterford's Solas Cancer Support centre.

Anthony Keyes said that cancer has left a lasting mark on his life as he has lost many he loved dearly to cancer.

"Solas have supported countless when they have needed it most, offering comfort, support and guidance," he said.

"I want to give back to this incredible organisation and encourage others, especially men who may struggle to ask for help, to reach out and use the services Solas provides".

Anthony's challenge will begin on October 6th and for his final two marathons, he will be running the last 10 kilometres alongside the Solas Run for Life in Dungarvan on October 11th and in Waterford City on October 12th.

"Every step I run is in honour of those we’ve lost and in support of those still fighting. Please help me make a difference," he said.

"The work Solas does for individuals and families affected by cancer in the southeast is nothing short of incredible."
"My goal is to raise both awareness and funds for Solas, and with your support, I know we could make a real impact," he said.
