RIP Margaret Ann Gavin
Tributes have poured in for Margaret Ann Gavin a Waterford women who was living in Canada who sadly died recently.
Margaret Ann was from Portlaw, Waterford and lived in Toronto, Canada at the time of her passing on July 6 2025.
She was the beloved wife of Kelly and devoted mother of Charlie and Lily. Deeply mourned by her heartbroken parents Esther and Martin, siblings Richard, Sharon, Vicki, and Derek, sister-in-law Sheila, brother-in-law Brian, and nieces Orla, Rachel, Olivia & Lucy, nephews Dean, Paul, Sam & Conor, Aunts, Uncle & cousins.
Margaret Ann will be remembered for her kindness, laughter, and unwavering support for her family and wide circle of friends, in particular Catherine Whitty. Her warm spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held in Toronto and a mass in her memory will be held in St. Patrick's Church Portlaw on Saturday the 19th of July at 12 noon.
Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Margaret Ann, with one mourner writing,
"Mags had such an impact on everyone she met and I was blessed to be one of those people. We used to share the train to the office and have a good giggle! Her energy and humour were infectious! There was definitely never a dull moment with Mags. She is sorely missed and I can only send my thoughts and prayers to her beautiful family to help bear this enormous loss. Sleep well for now."

Another message said, "I have so many cherished memories of Margaret Ann from our childhood. We shared some wonderful times, always getting up to all sorts. To Kelly, Charlie, Lily, Esther, Martin, Richard, Sharon, Vicki, Derek, and all of Margaret Ann’s extended family. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. Thinking of you all during this difficult time".
"Dearest Mags, you were such a beacon of light. A genuine friend, mentor, and leader with a heart of gold! Irreplaceable in my eyes and a hole in my heart. You will forever be missed," another person said.
