UPDATE: Search for Waterford teen missing since Monday stood down as gardaí issue update

A 17-year-old boy from Waterford who had been the subject of a missing person appeal has been found "safe and well", gardaí have confirmed.

Thomas Dowd - described as being approximately 5 feet 8 inches in height, with a slim build, blonde hair and blue eyes - was reported missing in Waterford city on Monday, March 3. He was last seen in the Dunmore Road area of the city at approximately 6:30pm.

When last seen, Thomas was wearing a grey tracksuit top and bottoms, and a pair of On Cloud runners.

"An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance," a garda spokesperson said.
