Fundraiser set up after Irish man suddenly dies in South Africa, leaving behind 'two young sons'

The late Colin Morrissey

A fundraiser has been set up after a Waterford father-of-two who suddenly died in South Africa.

Colin Morrissey of Rocksprings, Clarinwood, Tramore, passed away suddenly on August 15.

Formerly of Moonloun, Tramore, Mr Morrissey died in Port Alfred in South Africa.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by his sister, Trish Sheridan, to help the family cover the funeral costs.

“Sadly, our brother Colin passed away suddenly in South Africa leaving behind his two young sons. As you can imagine it's been very difficult to organise everything with all of us being so far away. Myself and my brothers are raising funds to help us give him the send-off he deserved in South Africa and here in Ireland where our mother, his extended family and friends can say their final goodbyes. We would appreciate anything you can give big our small. Thank you very much,” wrote Trisha on the fundraiser page.

Colin is predeceased by his dad, Jimmy. He will be sadly missed by his sons Jake, Dean and Alan, mother Valerie, brothers Paul, Keith and Jim, sister Trish, sister-in-law Joyce, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephew, ex-wife Lisa, extended family and friends, at home, and in South Africa.

So far, €2,070 have been raised to help the family with the cost of the funeral.
