Waterford gardaí investigate theft of banjo by 'conspicuous' thief

Gardaí in Waterford are investigating the theft of a much-loved musical instrument over the weekend.

On Sunday October 15th at approximately 5pm in Belmont Heights, Ferrybank, Waterford a burglary occurred and a banjo was stolen from the house.

The case which had the tenor banjo in it, which had a plain skin, unusually was left at the gate of the property so gardaí believe the thief would have been quite conspicuous in the area.

A garda spokesperson said "needless to say, the owner is very anxious to have the item returned".

Any information on the stolen instrument should be reported to to Ferrybank Gardaí please via Waterford on 051
305300.
