Boil water notice issued for 63,000 Waterford people

A BOIL water notice has been issued in Waterford, to protect 63,000 people in affected areas.

From midnight on Tuesday, August 1, customers supplied by Adamstown Water Treatment Plant in the East Waterford Water Supply Scheme will have to boil their water before consuming.

All customers in the following areas are advised to boil their water before consuming until further notice: Waterford City, Tramore, Dunmore East, Butlerstown/Kilmeaden, Faithlegg, Cheekpoint, Passage East, Crooke and surrounding areas.

This boil water notice, issued by Uisce Éireann and Waterford City and County Council, is due to planned industrial action, arising from a dispute between the Unite Trade Union and 12 Local Authorities.

Customers can check if their property is included by visiting the water quality section and entering the property’s Eircode or by calling the Uisce Éireann’s customer care helpline, open 24/7, on 1800 278 278.
