Waterford poetry prize open for submissions

ENTRIES are now being accepted for the Waterford Poetry Prize 2023. 

The Arts Office and Waterford City and County Council have announced that entries for their poetry prize are now open to all writers currently living in Ireland.

The winners of the Waterford Poetry Prize 2023 will be announced at the SpeakEasy event for the occasion of the Waterford Writers Weekend, which will take place on Friday, October 27.

The competition will be judged by writer and poet, Colm Keegan, the author of ‘Don’t Go There’. 

The winner of the poetry prize will receive a €400 cheque, as well as attendance to a designated writing course at the Molly Keane Writers Retreat. 

The second prize is a €300 cheque as well as a writing course, and the third prize is a €200 cheque. 

Closing dates for entries is 12 noon on Monday, August 21. Online entries will only be accepted here
