A Waterford councillor is condemning the "absolute thugs" responsible for vandalising a children's play area at the People's Park.
According to Councillor Frank Quinlan, who posted pictures of the vandalism on his Facebook page yesterday (April 4), said a new swing chair for disabled children in wheelchairs was "destroyed" during the incident.
Jars of sauce and rubbish were reportedly thrown across the playground and other equipment.
Councillor Quinlan spoke to WLR FM and confirmed the disabled swing was installed only recently.
He called the culprits "a menace to society altogether" and said it was "terrible" to see.
He said, "The amenities crew has to clean up after these people and it is actually occupying their time when they could be putting that time into other things."
