Garda appeal after boat engine equipment stolen from Waterford community enterprise

Gardai in Waterford are investigating the theft of outboard boat engines from a community enterprise, with the assistance of the public sought to help retrieve them. 

The theft of four out-board boat engines occurred in the early hours of the morning of the 15th of February 2023 from a locked yard on Villerstown Quay, Co Waterford. 

The business is a community run social enterprise, Blackwater Eco Tours. 

"This represents a significant loss for this group," a garda spokesperson said. 

The engines were removed from the four boats which would have taken approximately 40 minutes per engine. 

"We would ask the public if they saw anything unusual or if they have any information in relation to this crime to contact Dungarvan Garda Station on 058 48600," the garda spokesperson added. 

The engines stolen were: 

Honda BF20 LRU (20 horse power) serial number BAMJ-1548717 Silver

Yamaha F25 GMAL (25 horse power) serial number 6FMK-L-1010221 Grey

Honda F30 EFI (30 horse power) serial number unknown Grey

2nd Honda F30 EFI (30 horse power) serial number unknown Grey
