Drizzle is on the way
Milder weather and light drizzle is on the way for the coming days, but temperatures are set to drop later in the week.
There were patches of mist and fog in many areas on Monday morning, clearing slowly.
Temperatures in Waterford will reach 11C from 12 noon until 2pm and will then remain around 10C for the rest of the evening.
Met Éireann predicts that Mnday will be mainly dry with a good deal of cloud and some bright or sunny intervals. Some patchy drizzle also, most likely in the southeast and also near the west coast this evening. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with light southerly or variable breezes.
Tonight will be mostly cloudy with patches of light rain or drizzle along with low cloud or hill fog. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees generally in light southwesterly or variable breezes.
Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with some patchy light rain or drizzle at times, mainly in west Munster, Connacht, Ulster and north Leinster. The best of any brighter intervals will be further to the south and east. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with mostly light southwesterly breezes.
It will turn slightly fresher but brighter on Wednesday and for the end of the working week but overall it will be settled.
Tuesday night will remain mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain or drizzle, which will become persistent later in the night in the north and west. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly winds, veering northwesterly and freshening in the north and west towards morning.
Rain in the north and west on Wednesday will gradually track southeastwards and break up through the morning with some sunny spells and showers following for the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees, in mostly moderate northwesterly winds.
It will be dry and mostly clear on Wednesday, but turning cooler with lowest temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees in light to moderate northerly breezes.
