Seamus Power receives civic reception in Waterford
It has been an impressive year for Waterford native Seamus Power who will be inside the top 30 golfers in the world and be on top of the FedExCup standings going into the new year.
Power was honoured for his accolades in Waterford this week as the Tooraneena man received his second civic reception at a special Waterford County Council meeting.
Congratulations to @Power4Seamus, who received a Civic Reception from the Mayor of @waterfordcoco, Cllr. John O'Leary, in recognition of his outstanding international achievements to date. All in Waterford GAA wish Seamus all the best for 2023

The 35-year-old had impressive finishes in his last few PGA Tour events, including a win at the Bermuda Championship in October - his second PGA triumph.
Power, currently ranked 28th in the world, will be targeting a spot on next year's European Ryder Cup team if he can keep up the good form on the golf course.
At a special meeting of @WaterfordCounci this afternoon, I was proud and honoured to support a motion to confer a Civic Reception on Seamus Power, an outstanding sportsman and a great ambassador for Waterford and for Ireland. Best wishes to Seamus for continued success. pic.twitter.com/SzKjlcrK1n

2022 saw Power finish in the top 30 in three of the majors this year, also making his Masters debut back in April.
Power has also been included in the Great Britain and Ireland team to face golfers from Continental Europe in the new Hero Cup competition which will be held in Abu Dhabi in January.
Great to see the achievements of @PGATOUR Golfer @Power4Seamus formally recognised at a Civic Reception by @WaterfordCounci. May there be many more years of continued success for the humble man from Touraneena.
