There'll be Waterford pride on the sidelines at Croke Park later this month, as a Waterford referee has been appointed as a linesman for the 2025 All-Ireland senior hurling final.

The GAA confirmed today that Modeligo GAA clubman Thomas Walsh will join Dublin's Seán Stack as one of the two linesmen for the blockbuster showdown between Cork and Tipperary, which throws in at 3.30pm on Sunday, July 20.

It's a prestigious appointment for Walsh, a respected figure in Waterford refereeing circles, and another nod to the county's contribution to top-level GAA officiating.

The final will be refereed by Liam Gordon from Galway, who takes charge of his first-ever senior All-Ireland final. His team of officials includes umpires from the Killimor club, with linesman Seán Stack also acting as standby referee.

Colm McDonald from Antrim has been named sideline official, while Wexford's Dickie Murphy will oversee Hawk-Eye operations.

The final will be broadcast live on RTÉ and BBC, with hurling fans across the country eagerly awaiting another chapter in the Cork-Tipperary rivalry - and locals in Waterford will be sure to keep a special eye on one of their own running the line on the GAA's biggest stage.
