PICTURES: Magical scenes as impressive Waterford minor hurlers end All-Ireland drought

There were magical scenes at at FBD Semple Stadium in Thurles on Saturday evening as the Waterford minor hurlers ended the county's All-Ireland drought with an impressive victory over the 2023 champions Clare.

On what was a miserable evening, the Deise, who defeated Clare by six points in Dungarvan in May, were impressive throughout and led from beginning to end.

It was Waterford's fourth-ever All-Ireland minor title and the county's first since 2013. 

Played before a crowd of more than 15,000, the final score on Saturday evening was Waterford 1-18 Clare 0-10.

There were celebrations on and off the pitch as Waterford captain James Comerford was presented with the Irish Press Cup by GAA President Jarlath Burns.
