The Waterford hurlers opened their Munster Championship campaign in style when they welcomed the reigning All-Ireland champions Clare to Walsh Park on Sunday, recording an impressive eight-point win over Brian Lohan's men.

In front of a packed Walsh Park, Waterford who were bidding for a first championship victory over Clare in nearly five years, led by 0-13 to 0-10 at half-time while the final result was Waterford 2-23 Clare 0-21.
Waterford now face a crunch match next weekend when they welcome Limerick to Walsh Park.
