On Friday, June 7, voters in Waterford will go to the polls to elect 32 councillors to the local authority
The deadline for candidates to formally register ahead of next month's local elections in Waterford is this weekend, it has been confirmed.
Waterford City and County Council began accepting nomination papers on Monday and candidates are being reminded the closing date for the acceptance of complete and valid nomination papers and all required supporting documentation is 12 noon this Saturday - May 18.
Nomination Papers
Completed nomination papers must be delivered in person to the Returning Officer, Paul Johnston or his nominee by either the candidate or their proposer.
The local authority says the process is by appointment only and that nominations delivered by any other means will not be accepted and will be deemed invalid.
Nomination Papers will not be accepted after the deadline has passed.
