RIP: Tributes paid to a Waterford man who 'was a force of nature' following his passing

Dr. Paul Heenan - Waterford - Friday 2nd May 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Dr. Paul Heenan late of Passage Road, Waterford.

Paul passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday 2nd May 2025

Predeceased by his father Dr. Malachy Heenan and mother Elizabeth.

Sadly missed by his loving partner Orla, daughter Charlotte, sister Caroline, brother John, sister-in-law Jill, nephew Nicholas, nieces Rachel and Natasha, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Paul is such a loss to all his patients who were fortunate to have such a dedicated doctor, but more so to his family and friends. He was a force of nature who we wish we had seen more. Our sincerest condolences to you Caroline and all the family. May he rest in peace."

Another reads:

"RIP Dr Heenan
You were the perfect boss and friend.
I will always remember the good times that we had and the laughs that we shared.
Always in my thoughts.
Good night and god bless x"

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at Thompson Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford on Friday (16th May) from 7:00pm to 8:30pm with vigil prayers and rosary at 8:00pm.

Requiem Mass on arrival at 11:00am on Saturday (17th May) in St. Mary Church Ballygunner, Waterford followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
