Man in his 20s brought to hospital after alleged assault in Waterford city

A man in his 20s has been brought to hospital after an alleged assault in Waterford city this afternoon.

The incident occurred near the Apple Market on John Street shortly before 2pm.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene.

A male aged in his 20s was conveyed to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of his injuries.
