The team at Dooley’s Hotel on Waterford’s Quayside are celebrating a Gold Award this week, after being announced as the winners of the coveted CIE Tours Awards of Excellence.

CIE Tours are the largest carrier of US visitors to Ireland every year, and the annual awards celebrate Irish hoteliers and tourist experience operators.

Now in their 33rd year, the prestigious accolades are awarded based on post-stay feedback received by CIE Tours from their customers.

The third generation of the family-run hotel, Dooley’s Hotel, Tina Darrer said, “Every award winner is placed based on the rating of the customer so, we are really especially delighted with this award as it is based on the first-hand experience of each guest at Dooley’s Hotel,

"This is an award for all of our wonderful team and a testament to their hard work and commitment day in and day out to deliver the highest quality experience and deliver a warm welcome to everyone who comes through the door,” he added.

Dooley’s Hotel beat some stiff competition again, having won in 2016, and in 2022. This year, they topped the list again in their category and were the only three-star hotel in the country to receive the gold medal award.

Chairman of CIE Tours, Aidan Murphy said, “Our honourees are exemplary contributors to our 95.4% guest satisfaction rate, and they all deserve recognition for the excellent roles they play in welcoming visitors to Ireland and ensuring they have a memorable experience”.

Stephen Cotter, Managing Director, CIE Tours also said, “2024 was another landmark year for us, when we booked over 250,000 bed nights throughout Ireland.  Our support for tourism destinations is bringing vital revenue to towns and villages across the country.  Our current bookings for 2025 suggest that we will match our bookings for last year, which will be an excellent outcome for us.”

Congratulations!
