Planning permission has been granted for the construction of a new Aldi store in Waterford city.
The single storey discount retail store is set to be constructed at an address of Carrickphierish Road, Ballynamona, Gracedieu.
The development will include 85 car parking spaces and two bike shelters containing a total of 18 bicycle parking spaces.
A Deposit Return Scheme unit, ESB substation and switch room also form part of the plans.
As well as that, works on landscaping, boundary treatments, street lighting and signage will be carried out.

Vehicular and pedestrian access will be provided via the Carrickphierish Road.
The application was submitted by Aldi Stores (Ireland) Limited on May 30, 2025.
Waterford City and County Council granted permission for the development on February 26, with 16 conditions attached.
It will become the fourth Aldi store in Waterford city, with stores already open in City Square, Ardkeen and one the Cork Road.
The German supermarket chain also has stores in Tramore, Ferrybank and Dungarvan.
