A Waterford native has been appointed to a senior role at one of the world's leading tax technology companies.

Ciaran McGrath, originally from Waterford and a graduate of Waterford Institute of Technology, has been named Chief Product Officer at Sprintax, a global leader in nonresident tax compliance software.

In his new role, McGrath will take charge of the company's product vision and strategy as Sprintax expands its suite of tax technology solutions around the world.

McGrath brings more than two decades of experience in SaaS and digital transformation to the role, having previously held senior leadership positions across product, technology, and operations. Over the course of his career, he has overseen the building of scalable platforms, spearheaded digital innovation, and guided organisations through rapid growth and change.

Speaking about the appointment, McGrath said he was excited to return to an Irish-founded company with a strong global presence.

"I'm thrilled to join Sprintax at this pivotal stage in the company's journey. Sprintax has come a long way in a short space of time, and I look forward to helping shape the product strategy and enhancing our suite of tax solutions to better serve our customers worldwide."

Sprintax CEO Joanna Murphy welcomed the Waterford man to the leadership team, describing him as a "proven leader in strategic innovation."

"We are delighted to welcome Ciaran to our leadership team. His background in user-focused digital solutions and performance optimisation will be invaluable as we enter our next stage of growth," she said.

Headquartered in Kilkenny, Sprintax works with more than 700 institutions and corporations globally, including Ivy League universities in the US, and processes thousands of nonresident tax returns every year.
