Gardaí issue warning after laptop stolen from parked car in Waterford overnight

Gardaí in Waterford are appealing for information after a laptop was stolen from a parked vehicle overnight.

The silver HP laptop was stolen from a vehicle parked in the Claremont area off the Cork Road during the night of 10–11 November.

The theft happened sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning, when the laptop was taken from inside the vehicle.

In an appeal to the public, gardaí are reminding motorists to ensure their vehicles are locked and to use device-tracking tools where possible.

A Garda spokesperson said the "Find My Device" feature has helped investigators recover stolen items in previous cases, and urged people to have such apps and programmes set up on laptops, phones, and tablets.

Anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the Claremont or Cork Road area, or who may have dash-cam or doorbell footage from the time of the incident, is asked to contact Waterford Garda Station on 051 305300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
