A fundraiser has been set up to bring his body home
Tributes have been pouring in for a Sligo dad, who died while on holiday in Bulgaria.
Geoffrey McManus of Langan Drive, Cranmore, Sligo Town, died unexpected on May 21, while on holiday.
His nephew, Brandon Mills, has set up a GoFundMe campaign to bring him home.
"Firstly, on behalf of the McManus and McMorrow family, we can’t express how much we appreciate the love and support that we have received since Geoffrey has passed away. It has been overwhelming and both of my grandparents cannot thank you all enough. We are seeking help from the community with this go fund me," Brandon explained.
Geoffrey, unfortunately passed in another country, Bulgaria. In order for Geoffrey to be released and finally get home to his family where he will be laid to rest my Grandfather has to fly over and speak with legal representatives. Myself and my aunt Jennifer will be coming along with him for support.
"Every cent raised will go towards this process, and whatever is left will go towards funeral cost and his headstone.
We do appreciate that times are tough, so absolutely anything or even a share would be much appreciated," he said.
Since the tragic news broke out, tributes have been pouring in for the dad of three.
"Geoffrey McManus, you have left a lot of heavy hearts here at home. The amount of memories you have given us all, you have given us some amount of stories to tell over your 39 years on this earth, thinking of these good times we can laugh, something you never failed to make us do," paid a friend in tribute.
They continued: "As your mother always said they broke the mould when they made you. There really is only one Geoffrey McManus and not another soul made like you. You were the apple of your father and mother's eyes, not only were you their son but you were also their best friend. You were loved by us all, you were a class act Geoffrey and you will be deeply missed by all. You will never walk alone."
