Indiana Bones, or Indy, is a rescue collie who was handed into a shelter when she was just eight weeks old

A puppy that was dumped in a Tesco bag in Mayo ten years ago will represent Ireland at Crufts next month after being named the country's best agility dog for four years straight.

Indiana Bones, or Indy, is a rescue collie who was handed into a shelter when she was just eight weeks old.

The woman who brought her there asked for the Tesco bag back, according to an article by the Irish Times.

Indiana Bones is now 10, and she will be the first dog to represent Ireland at the Crufts show for four years in a row.

"Indy just excelled at everything she did, like trick training and agility, and then, on the side, she’s a famous actress as well," her owner, Laura Murphy, said.

The collie appeared alongside Barry Keoghan in 'Bring Them Down' in 2024 and also played Sergeant Scraps in the US sitcom 'Going Dutch.'

Agility is Indy's main job, but she will retire from competing in that soon due to her age. .

"We don’t want to keep her going too long and risk an injury. She’s going to be retiring from big competitions. She’ll still do a little bit for fun as she gets older – lots of conditioning and fitness work – but we’ll probably be focusing on her acting career going forward," Laura said.

Indy has previously competed in Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands, with Laura saying she "loves the crowd" and "loves the attention."

Crufts will take place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham from March 5th to March 8th.
