Man and woman arrested over fatal assault in Dublin
Qayyum Balogun, aged 21, was taken to hospital following an incident in the city centre in the early hours of Monday and later pronounced dead.
A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with a fatal assault in Dublin city centre.
Qayyum Balogun, aged 21, was found in a serious condition in the area around Clarendon Street and Grafton Street at approximately 3am on Monday.
He was taken to St James’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
An Garda Siochana said they had arrested a woman on Tuesday and a man on Wednesday in connection with the investigation.
Both were aged in their 20s and had been detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda atation in the Dublin area.
A spokesperson said: “Investigations are ongoing.”
