The new kit is inspired by Thin Lizzy's legendary 1977 gig at Dalymount Park

Bohemian Football Club pay tribute to one of the greatest concerts to take place in their home ground of Dalymount Park with their new 2024 away kit, which features the Thin Lizzy logo emblazoned across the chest.

The shirt also features the immortal "Friday night they'll be dressed to kill" line from the Boys Are Back In Town embroidered onto the neck of the shirt, along with black rose detailing, designed by the great Jim Fitzpatrick, throughout the body, sleeve trims, and an embroidered hem tag of an original concert poster on the lower front.

"We are delighted to unveil this jersey today following lots of work on the idea," says Bohs CEO Daniel Lambert.

"The Lizzy concert at Dalymount has always been mentioned in any lists of the greatest Irish gigs of all time.

"It was the first concert held at our famous venue, setting the path for the many famous gigs to follow through the 80s and 90s.

"Thin Lizzy are one of the greatest Irish bands of all time, and for many Phil the greatest Dubliner, to pay tribute to them and the gig on the shirt is brilliant," he continued.

It's the latest kit in a series celebrating legendary artist who've played the hallowed grounds in Phibsborough, Dublin.

Bohemians FC have previously released kits celebrating local lads Fontaines DC, as well as a kit celebrating Bob Marley's only Irish concert, which took place at Dalymount in July 1980.

Philo and the boys played their big gig in the grounds on August 21, 1977, the day after Lynott's 28th birthday, with Radiators From Space, Fairport Convention, the Boomtown Rats and Graham Parker and the Rumour supporting.

Ten per cent of the profits from sales will go to Music Generation Dublin City to help bring music to disadvantaged and socially isolated children across the capital.

"Music Generation Dublin City are proud and excited to partner with Bohemians FC on this fantastic project, and create further access to music education for children and young people in Dublin," Kieran McGuinness from Music Generation said.

"The opportunity to create a fund to support young bands and acts will ensure we get close to our goal of making sure that everyone in our community, whatever their background, gets access to music tuition... and just maybe we can help develop the next Thin Lizzy!"

The new away kit is available from shop-bohemianfc.com.
