Waterford hospital is one of the most overcrowded in the country today

University Hospital Waterford has 36 patients on trolleys and the ward on Monday, according to the latest trolley and ward watch figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

The nationwide figure is 430, a decrease of 9% on the same day last year when there were 473  patients on trolleys.
 
The only other hospitals with the higher numbers on Monday are University Hospital Limerick (61) and Letterkenny University Hospital (31).
