Waterford students take part in Raise the Roof housing protest in Dublin

Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) Students' Union joined 12,000 protesters for the Raise the Roof rally in Dublin on Wednesday. 

The demonstration highlighted the impact of the housing and homelessness crisis in Ireland. 

"Too many people are forced to sleep on the streets. Too many families are being forced out of their homes because of inhabitable conditions. Too many students are being locked out of education because the cost of rent is just too high," a WIT Students' Union spokesperson said.
