Celebrity Eclipse passenger suffers heart attack off Wexford coast

Waterford based Rescue 117 Coast Guard helicopter airlifted a passenger who suffered a heart attack on a luxury cruise ship on Wednesday morning.
Rescue 117 was tasked to the Celebrity Eclipse cruise ship, which recently stopped off in Waterford, off the Wexford coast at 4am.
The passenger required immediate evacuation, with their spouse and the cruise ship nurse also airlifted. The passenger needed the services of a cath lab and was brought to Dublin Airport where the National Ambulance Service took over.
Rescue 117 wrote on Facebook: ‘Thanks to all services who assisted in the operation and particularly RNLI Rosslare’.
