Waterford restaurant The Bay Tree Bistro's "amazing journey" moves on to Kilkenny

Award-winning Waterford restaurant The Bay Tree Bistro has moved to Kilkenny.

The Bay Tree Bistro originally opened in Ballybricken in 2015 before moving into Merchants Quay the following year.

Owners Keith and Carmel Boyle described their journey in Waterford as "amazing", thanking everyone who dined at the restaurant's closing night last Saturday.

"62 covers, seven courses, 434 plates to finish off what was an amazing journey here for us on The Quays. To finish with a full house and to see everyone enjoying themselves here was a delight.

"We have accomplished many things in this part of our journey and hopefully we can achieve a lot more on our next. A huge thanks to all the team who put in an amazing effort to make sure all our guests received the best quality food, service and experience we have always strived to provide, even on our last night. We finished here how we started with a room full of friends enjoying what we do. We are signing off for now, but not for long," Keith and Carmel Boyle said.

The Bay Tree Bistro will continue its journey in a restored 18th century Georgian house in Kilkenny.
