Decrease in number of patients on trolleys at University Hospital Waterford

There has been a decrease in the number of patients on trolleys and the ward at University Hospital Waterford in the last 24 hours, according to the latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation. 

24 people are on trolleys and the ward on Wednesday (August 15), compared to 32 patients on Tuesday.

The nationwide figure is 413, an increase of 8% on the same day last year when there were 384 patients on trolleys.

The hospitals with the highest numbers today are University Hospital Galway (43), Cork University Hospital (42) and University Hospital Limerick (39). 

Other figures for Wednesday include South Tipperary General Hospital (12), Kilkenny's St Luke's General Hospital (19) and Wexford General Hospital (16).
