Gardaí set up a speed checkpoint on the 100km/h Waterford bypass on Friday (July 6).
The first car stopped was travelling at 157km/h and the second car at 166km/h.
Gardaí took to their official Twitter account to urge drivers to slow down and arrive at their destination alive.
